ABOUT THE CHARACTER
"The real me is supposed to be a tall, terrifying Touken Danshi who can silence even a crying child. But... how did it come to this... It's that curse! The cat's curse...!! Nyaaargh!!"
Nansen is the personified spirit of the sword "Nansen Ichimonji", an uchigatana owned by the Owari branch clan of the Tokugawa shogunate in Edo period Japan. Legend goes that a cat once knocked him over, causing the blade to fall and slice the cat in two; this led to him being named "Nansen" for a proverb about a Zen monk who killed a cat. As a result of this story, he manifested into a human form with cat-like physical and personality quirks, a "curse" he wishes to be rid of.
Summoned into a physical form, he now fights to protect history from those who wish to change it, learning what it means to have a human heart along the way!
